Considerations

The implications of the issues raised in many cases demonstrates the justification for additional costs associated with supporting activity/delivery for those with additional abilities. It would seem a true reflection to say that Arts organisations would like funders to fully understand the unique aspects of funding in this area.

It is hoped that the benefits derived from activity can be reported in such a way as to truly reflect those impacted positively through engagement.  It is also seen as important to understand and acknowledge that the total number engaged is likely to be fewer – therefore the cost per head may be higher than in other projects.

Finally, it may be necessary to address any commercial factors that impact negatively on the ability of young people with additional abilities to access opportunities in the arts.
